Seeing the fate of the Eid films, many film makers have postponed their films
for some time. That is why one of the much-hyped movies of the coming year, Pyar
Hi Pyar Mein, which has been directed by the famous TV director, Faheem Burney,
has been pushed to late March release.
It is interesting to note that Faheem has been advertising January as the
release month of his movie. But, soon after the Eid flicks came a cropper,
Faheem delayed his film. At first, a tie was expected between his movie and that
of Samina Peerzada, but today, as Samina has finally decided on 3rd of January
as the release day for Shararat, Faheem has delayed his film for good.
It seems that Faheem is using the tactics used by Javed Sheikh for his Yeh Dil
Aapka Huwa. But, Faheem must keep one thing in mind: Javed made a different
film, and he proved that the film was worth the hype. Faheem's film doesn't
boast of a stellar cast except Meera who also makes a guest appearance.
Besides, Faheem's film is being increasingly criticised by the industrywallas as
a mishmash of various Bollywood flicks. Even the songs of the film are said to
be shot in the way a lot of Bollywood songs have been done.
In such a situation, if Faheem thinks he still can create hype matching Yeh Dil...
then he is only being 'overconfident. He'd better take a cue from Asif Ali Pota
and his Fire.
Visually the film is quite appealing in the first half but as soon as the second
half starts the colors are no more that attractive. The dubbing at times is very
bad but locations have been used in a very beautiful manner, especially the
Jinnah Garden and Library over there have been used in an excellent manner. I
wish Shan could have made the entire film as good as the few good opening and
closing shots of the film, which promise you the real elements of good cinema
and experience. But you come out of the theatre in search of good cinema in
spite of the deep involvement of a young director who undoubtedly wanted to make
a good film.
