History
Singapura cat is the native of Singapore. They are a combination of both the
ticked coat pattern and the dark brown color. Earlier these cats were not given
much attention but when they started becoming nuisance they were severely dealt
with. The breed was brought into the U.S. in the early 1970s by Hal and Tommy
Meadow. Singapura breeders developed this breed and in 1982 this breed was
accepted for registration by CFA. Singapura was given championship status in
1988.
Appearance
The Singapura is a small, shorthaired cat with remarkably large eyes and ears.
They have a moderately stocky and muscular body. Eyes may be hazel, green or
yellow colored. They have a rounded skull with broad muzzle and blunt nose.
Personality
Singapura are known as "pesky people cat". They are extrovert, inquisitive and
playful. They are very intelligent and interactive. They have a very soft voice.
