History
Siamese cat originated in Thailand (formerly known as Siam). The Siamese is one
of the oldest breeds of domestic cat and also arguably the most recognizable
breed on the earth. The Siamese were first imported to England in 1884. A
British Consul general was gifted these cats and he brought them to England from
Bangkok. Siamese cats were imported to America in early twentieth century. These
cats instantly became popular in Britain and America and began appearing in cat
shows.
Appearance
Siamese are sleek cats with striking color contrast, deep blue almond eyes and
short silky coat. It is a medium-sized cat with long tapering lines. They have a
muscular tubular body supported by long legs. They have a finely chiseled head
with a visible kink in their tail. Siamese come in four colors - seal,
chocolate, blue, and lilac point.
Personality
Siamese are very gregarious and depend a lot on their humans. They crave for
attention. They are unpredictable in their behavior and can appear aloof and
disinterested. Siamese are very good communicators. Their voice is legendary.
They communicate both with their voice and with their body language.
