Nature: Huge yet peaceful, Irish Wolf hounds are sight hounds with a quiet
personality. They are affectionate, social, friendly, lyal, calm and gentle.
They love well with children, pets and other dogs and is generally quiet indoors
after their puppy years. However, they weigh up to 100 pounds is just six months
and need a lot of food, exercise and space and thus, are suitable for mostly
country living. Early socialization is good for them and they are fairly easy to
train. Gentle and sympathetic training works well for them.
Grooming: Regular brushing, combing and grooming is required to keep Irish
Wolfhounds in good shape. It is also a must to pluck dead hair from their coat
while they are shedding twice a year.
Exercise: Irish Wolf hound can adapt itself to the activity level of the family
but loves to have long walks in the country.
