Nature: Graceful in appearance and character, these dogs are loving, playful and form a close bond with their owner. Friendly, good-natured, very agile and obedient, intelligent, adaptable, sensible, confident and happy-go-lucky Retriever loves to be a part of the family. It does not like to be put apart in a kennel. Eager to please and learn, it is best at retrieving and showing. They greet visitors happily but bark at intruders. They form friends with children but they should be supervised when they are with toddlers or they can accidentally knock them off.

Grooming: Weekly grooming is required for these Retrievers including cleaning the coat and brushing it properly. It is advisable to keep its appearance natural.

Exercise: Daily exercise, long walks, swimming, field sports and playing catch keeps a Flat-coated Retriever happy and healthy.
