WASHINGTON: Global rights assembly Human Rights Watch urged Afghan
lawmakers to free of charge the young son of Aafia Siddiqui, who is by now
expected trial in the United States on invoices of making an effort to kill US
officials.
"The Afghan municipal is able to straight off relinquish 11-year-old Ahmed
Siddiqui to the custody of his family," Human Rights Watch declared in a
statement.
According to Human Rights Watch, 11-year-old Ahmed Siddiqui, a US citizen, was
"held briefly by the Interior Ministry and at that time transferred to the
custody of the Afghan National Security Directorate (NDS), the country's
aptitude agency" once he was detained among his mother.
"His present whereabouts are unknown. The NDS is notorious for its brutal
service of detainees," Human Rights Watch said.
