clamshell flip-flap phone promises its user an interactive mobile experience
with its latest features, which include Shake and Gesture control, TrackID and
SenseMe technology. W508 also flaunts additional style up panels that are sure

Design
Weighing a mere 98 grams, Sony Ericsson W508 sports a truly contemporary style,
when it comes to designing. The phone has a clamshell design, which is a new
style adopted by Walkman cell phones. W508 is 93.5 mm long, 50 mm wide and 14 mm
thick. Featuring a 2.2-inch, 262,144-color TFT, scratch-resistant screen, which
provides a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, W508 is complemented by a 1.1-inch Sony
Ericsson W508 Walkman Phonemonochromatic OLED, scratch-resistant external
screen, which offers 128 x 36 pixel resolution.
The front panel of Sony Ericsson W508 features touch-music keysthat allow the
users to switch tracks easily. While W508 comes in two base colors - metallic
grey and poetic white, it is also accompanied by additional stylish panels,
which can be used by the customers for beautifying the handset's exteriors. The
white model comes with midnight summer, splashed art, radial blue or street
hip-hop covers, while the grey handset comes with sunny orange, forest green,
architectural purple and mysterious graffiti covers.
Features
With young music lovers as the target, W508 has been equipped with the exclusive
shake control and gesture control feature that allows the user to control the
music track and volume only with aflick of the wrist. Another exclusive feature
is the SensMe technology, which allows the users to listen to their favorite
songs to match the mood. Moreover, the alarm set can also be switched to snooze
or mute by a sweep of the palm. As for the camera, the phone flaunts a 3.2 mega
pixel digital camera, along with HSDPA and 16 GB external memory.
Apart from these features, W508 comes with stereo Bluetooth, a speakerphone,
video calling, an FM radio, YouTube integration, PC syncing, USB mass storage,
modem support, messaging and email, external music controls, a memory card slot,
an audio recorder, instant messaging, video streaming, 3D games and a personal
organizer. The PlayNow arena helps to customize the phone with unique ring tones
and wallpapers. The internal memory of the phone rises up to 100MB. W508
promises 24 hours of music listening and a talk time which would last for about
10 hours.
