Sony Ericsson has been successful in attaining another milestone with its newly
launched Sony Ericsson K850 Cyber-shot cell phone. The Cyber-shot joins the
next-generation bandwagon of handsets from Sony Ericsson embodying potent
camera-phones. This mobile flaunts all the attractive features as in the
previous Cyber-shot sets and apart from the resolution punch, also packs in full
HSDPA (3.6 Mbits) support. Sony Ericsson K850 that embodies a 5 mega pixel
camera has upped the benchmark in mobile engineering by another notch. Let us
check out the design and features of this new product from the Sony Ericsson.
Design
Sony Ericsson K850Sony Ericsson K850 is available in Velvet Blue or Luminous
Green hues.As far as size is concerned, the K850 is more or less similar to the
Sony Ericsson K810 with almost same measurements. Only the weight of the K850 is
3g more. Sony Ericsson K850 sports a very unique design feature - the navigation
D-pad is made part of the alphanumeric keypad, while the soft keys are quite
small. The most likely motive behind designing it this way is the requirement to
accommodate a bigger display while maintaining the older size and form. Equipped
with a music player, the Sony Ericsson K 850 gives off stylish light effects as
per the rhythm playing currently on the handset.
Features
Sony Ericsson K850 does sport many updates over formerly released handsets. For
example, it has automatic camera cover, a 3-LED video light, a revamped camera
interface and a brand new media browser with image auto rotate facility. Further
on, the K850 has a bigger, 2.2" TFT display and has additional network support
like tri-band HSDPA (3.6 Mbits) and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. Apart from these,
the new Sony Ericsson K850 cell phone features the original K810 characteristics
like xenon flash, a secondary video calls camera, stereo Bluetooth, USB support,
FM radio and a M2 memory card slot.
The memory card slot needs a highlight as it is the first SE attempt at
employing a dual card support. The handset can do with both a M2 card and
microSD card. In terms of video facility, Sony Ericsson has attained another
feat with their new product. This is because Sony Ericsson K850 is the second of
their handsets to sport video recording in QVGA resolution at 30 fps. The new
Sony Ericsson K850 contains Music Player 3.0. It is almost identical as the
recently announced version 3.0 of the Walkman player seen in Sony Ericsson W910
Walkman phone.
