is also a great way to enhance their crafting skills and creativity levels. You
can also use this opportunity to strengthen your bond with your kids and have
some fun time together. Given below are some really easy Thanksgiving Day craft
ideas for children, listed just for you.
Easy Thanksgiving Crafts For Kids
Turkey Breadbasket
Craft Materials
* Large Wooden Spoon
* Pencils or Markers (black and red color)
* Glue Stick
* A Flat Craft Spoon (wooden)
* Printed Wrapping Papers
* Pages from Old Magazines (optional)
* Waxed Paper
* Dinner Napkins (cloth)
* A Basket, big enough to hold some loaf of breads or rolls
* Thin Wooden Skewers
* Florists Foam, to be placed inside the basket
* Two Craft Eyes
Procedure
* For the head of the turkey, make use of the large wooden spoon, such that the
back of the spoon can be used as the face. Now, attach the craft eyes to the
face, using the glue stick and form a yellow beak by cutting out a yellow
construction paper.
* Now, using a red marker pen, color the flat wooden craft spoon. This can be
used as the wattle of the turkey. Attach this to the face, in such a way that
the top slightly overlaps the beak. To hold the pieces together until the glue
dries, you can make use of a pinch-style clothespin.
* Next, cut out colored feathers out of the construction paper. Make sure that
each of these feathers measure about 10 inches long and 1¾ inches across at the
widest point of the feather.
* Make exactly the same number of feathers with the wrapping paper or the
magazine pages as you did with the construction paper. These feathers should be
slightly smaller than the solid colored ones.
* Spread a sheet of waxed paper over a flat working surface. This will help you
cleanup easily, after the work has been completed.
* Gather the feathers over the surface and work on them one at a time. Start by
placing one of the cutouts over the waxed paper and place a wooden skewer on the
top, such that the blunt edge is just below the top of the paper. The pointed
end, on the other hand, will extend about three inches below it.
* Using a glue stick, coat the underside of one of the printed feathers, press
it and attach onto the construction paper feather, such that the skewer lies in
between the two layers.
* Attach the block of foam into the basket, force the spoon handle inside one of
the ends of the block, hard enough to secure it properly and then stick the
feathers in the opposite end.
* Finally, cover the block with a piece of cloth napkin and add any trinkets or
sequins for decoration. Your turkey basket is ready to be filled with bread and
other such baked products.

* Paper Towel Roll (optional)
* A pair of Scissors
* Glue

* Now decorate each of the rings with Thanksgiving designs of your own choice.
* Using colorful construction papers, cut out feathers and attach them to the
inside of the ring, with the glue stick
* Once done, color and decorate the outside just like an Indian headdress.
