Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is one of the ceremonious occasions, celebrated with
gusto by Hindus in various parts of India. The festival commemorates
brother-sister relationship. On the auspicious occasion, the sisters would get
up early, take bath, offer prayers to their favorite deity and call upon their
brothers to meet them at their place. The brothers are given warm welcome on
their arrival. Thereafter, the auspicious thread - Rakhi - is tied on their
wrist, by their sisters. The siblings would share sweets, after which, the
sisters are showered with gifts and money. On the occasion, you may either

Perry Cherry Ladoo Recipe
Ingredients
* 1kg Pears
* 1/2kg Sugar
* 1/2kg Coconut Powder
* 4 tsp Cardamom Powder
* Red Cherry
Method
* Peel off all the pears.
* Take water in a pot and add some salt to it.
* Immerse all the pears in water for 10 about minutes.
* Grate the soaked pears remove the extra water by squeezing the grated pears.
* Take 1 cup water in a pan and add sugar in it. Prepare the sugar syrup over
medium flame, until the sugar reaches a thick consistency.
* Mix the grated pears into the sugar syrup. Blend them thoroughly, over simmer
flame. Keep on stirring the mixture for about 15-20 minutes.
* After the grated pears and sugar syrup blend well, remove the mixture from the
flame and allow the mixture to cool for sometime. Thereafter, add cardamom
powder and half of coconut powder to the mixture.
* Make laddoos (small lemon sized balls) out of the mixture. Now, dust the
laddoos with the rest half of coconut powder.
* Decorate all the ladoos by putting some red cherries on top of each one. |
