Colored Easter eggs are synonymous with the festival of Easter. This trend is
popular since ages. It is said that these eggs stand as a symbol of re-birth and
were used in the rituals of many ancient communities even before the concept of
Easter celebrations emerged. Later, on the confluence of some of these cultures
with Christian traditions, the colored Easter eggs became very much a part of
the Easter celebrations. Making colored Easter eggs is not a difficult task at
all, with a little bit of care; one can easily make a basketful of beautifully
decorated Easter eggs. If you want to make beautiful colored Easter eggs, here
are the instructions.
Materials Required:
* Eggs
* A child-safe sharp pin/needle
* Assorted food coloring
* Tape and rubber bands
Instructions:
* Use a sharp-pointed pin to screw a small hole in each end of an egg. Then hold
the egg over a saucer and blow hard into one hole until all the contents have
run out of the other hole. Allow the eggs to dry out overnight.
* In order to make the tape eggs, cut different shapes from the tape, such as
circles, squares and strips. Press the tape onto the eggs in any pattern you
like. While pressing the tape ensure that the coloring does not run under. Dip
the eggs in the food coloring and when they become dry, remove the tape.
* To make the string striped eggs, you can wrap rubber bands of all sizes around
eggs in many different directions. Dip the eggs in the food coloring. When eggs
have dried, remove the rubber bands.
