Healthy skin is one of the prerequisites of an attractive personality and face
masks are necessary for ensuring smooth and supple skin. Weekly or bi-weekly
application of facial mask can make your skin smoother, softer and cleaner.
Whether market-bought or homemade, these masks help remove excess oil, minimize
the appearance of pores, provide moisture and nourish the skin. Apart from that,
they also help reduce the number of blackheads and whiteheads. However, in order
to ensure all these benefits, you have to make sure that you know how to use it
correctly. Read on to get tips for applying facial mask.
How To Use A Facial Mask
* First of all, tie your hair in a firm ponytail. At the same time, place a
headband or other hair tie on your hair. This will prevent it from falling over
you face and getting dirty with the facial mask. You will also gain access to
each and every part of your face.
* If you want the face mask to be effective, make sure to cleanse your face as
well as your neck thoroughly. Thereafter, rinse them with lukewarm water and let
them dry completely. The face mask will be applied on, clean and dry, face as
well as neck.
* The best way to apply a facial mask is by making use of your fingers. This is
because the warmth of your fingers will help spread the mask evenly. Squeeze out
enough facial mask on your palm and use your fingers to apply it on your face.
* Start the application of the face mask from the forehead, lightly rubbing it
onto your skin. Go on working your way down over your skin, on the cheeks, nose
and chin, all the way to your neck. Make sure to leave the skin over your eyes
and your lips uncovered by the facial mask.
* Leave the mask on your face for the required amount of time, as stated on the
pack of the facial mask. In case of homemade mask, at least keep it till the
time it sets fully. While the mask is on your face, don’t make any facial
expressions. Rather, lie on the bed and close your eyes.
* After the mask has set or the required time period is over, rinse your face
and neck with warm water. Thereafter, use a mild cleanser to make sure that the
entire facial mask is removed completely. Pat your face dry with a soft towel
and apply moisturizer, hydrating cream or tonic. |
