What VW sees as the second-generation Golf Plus but is in reality a mildly
facelfited version of the more practical Golf, made its debut at the Bologna
Motor Show in Italy. The subtly updated, plus-sized Golf, attempts to forge
a link to the bodystyle of the Golf VI hatchback especially in what concerns the
front end design with a new grille, redesigned bumper and revised headlamps. The
rear bumper and roof rails were also redesigned as were the 'cherry red' rear
lights that now incorporate LED technology. The exterior styling modifications
are complemented by a range of new wheel and tire options, including 18-inch 'Bilbao'
alloy wheels from VW's Individual division.
